
DIB Bank set to empower customers with seamless KRA Tax Payments
Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB Bank) Kenya is set to roll out Kenya Revenue Authority tax payment services in response to its customers’ long-term demand.
Speaking during the launch of their newest branch in the Nyali area of Mombasa, Acting CEO Mary Kanuku highlighted that the initiative will enable prospective clients to access various tax services through the bank’s KRA portal.
“I know that the issue of tax payment has been highly requested in the Mombasa market, especially for part-readers, so this will enable you to file your tax remittances, whether income tax, advance tax, and any other services that are offered through the KRA tax system,” She Noted.
Among other initiatives are the introduction of mobile banking and an overhauled corporate banking system, which is more customer- friendly hence making it easier to access various services from the comfort of your home.
“We are in the final stage of rolling out the only channel to the market which will allow both retail and corporate customers to access our banking services on their personal computers and mobile phones,” Highlighted Kanuku.
The acting CEO also cited a full-year profit of Ksh103 billion in 2024, marking a 140 percent growth in profitability compared to the year 2023.
“This remarkable growth was achieved due to consistent growth in our balance sheet, focusing on asset quality and operational efficiency across our expanded branch network,” She added.
Kanuku emphasized DIB’s commitment to personalized banking services and community-centred growth. “We are deeply grateful for the warm welcome from the people of Mombasa. DIB is here not only to provide Sharia-compliant banking but also to walk with entrepreneurs and small businesses as they grow,” she said.
She also acknowledged the positive business environment in Mombasa, attributing it to the county Leadership’s pro-investment stance. “This county is ripe with opportunity,” she added.
The Mombasa County Executive Committee Member for Education and Vocational Training Mr. Mbwarali Kame praised the initiative and revealed that consultations had already been held with the county governor regarding DIB’s presence.
“This expansion is a step in the right direction. It reflects the bank’s commitment to integrating with local communities and delivering tailored services that align with Islamic principles,” he noted.
On his part, County Executive Committee Member for Tourism, Culture and Trade, Mohamed Osman, on behalf of County governor Abdulswammad Shariff Nassir noted that sharia compliant banking aligns well with the county’s agenda hence enhancing investment opportunities.
“Mombasa is proud to host this newest branch as this strategic investment in Nyali is timely as it reflects the confidence that businesses have in our local community, and the great potential that Mombasa continues to offer is a commercial and cultural map of East Africa,” He Said.
He further assured that the County government remains committed to working with financial stakeholders and investors to thrive on growth, sustainability, and deepen financial inclusion within the county.
